New Glimpses and New Help from my Mailing List

Letter a pencil2

Back in the 1970’s and ‘80’s we caught a glimpse of the future of everyday life, and it shone bright. With more and more labor-saving devices coming on the market, life would become easier and easier. Whatever would we do with all the time we saved?

We dreamed of phones that would allow you to see the person you were calling and computers which processed words faster than a typewriter. Then email revolutionized communication in a way we’d never dreamed of, even in the age of the Jetsons.

In my view, the internet came out of nowhere. At first I wondered why I needed the internet when I had a good set of encyclopedias. Even in the 1990’s I couldn’t foresee how the internet would totally revolutionize our lives.

But with the vast explosion of information that the internet brings comes a new problem.

What do I do with all the information?

At least we don’t have to wonder what to do with all the time we save with our labor-saving devices.

These days I wake up in the morning, check my main email account; my gmail account with the ACFW loop and critique groups; Facebook personal profile, author page, and the various writer’s groups on Facebook; Invercargill weather; maybe check notifications for my Goodreads, CreateSpace or Kindle account; check for comments on my Website. Then it’s time for breakfast and I haven’t even read the daily newspaper.

Help!

I know how you feel. Every day you are bombarded with more information than you can handle. You can’t possibly read even all of the stuff that could be helpful, interesting, or hilarious. I can’t manage all your information, but I can make my information easier for you to manage.

Just recently I’ve made changes to help all my subscribers filter what they get from me and find the information that is helpful to them more easily.

This is new!

debsbookblast

Sorting out my ministry blog.

I’ve been writing my ministry blog for four years. If you’ve been a long-term subscriber, you know that I write articles in three categories: church ministry, missions ministry, and writing ministry. Now I’m making it easier to filter these emails with a new way of working Deb’s Ministry Blog.

If you subscribe to my ministry blog, you will get a short note in your email inbox which will tell you what that email is about and will link you to the article. If you’ve already subscribed to my blog, you are already on this mailing list. You may unsubscribe with a simple click, so you don’t have to be afraid to sign up for this. If you’re unsure if you’re a subscriber, subscribe again. You won’t get duplicate emails for the same address.

Coming soon:

  • Planning a Mother-Daughter Event (church ministry)
  • Teaching MK’s to Appreciate Your Home Country (missions)
  • Why join American Christian Fiction Writers? (writing)

If you’re not already a subscriber to my ministry blog, you can sign up here.

What if you already follow my Facebook author page?

I will have links on my Facebook page, but experience and data confirm that you only see a small percentage of what your friends actually post on Facebook. I recommend you sign up directly for my book blast or ministry blog.
