NT Lesson 10 – Heals a Blind Man

Mark 10:46-52, Luke 18:35-43

Jesus went to many places in Israel. He taught people about God and healed sick people. Some people liked Jesus. Some people hated him. Some didn’t know what to think about Jesus. But everyone heard about Jesus.

A blind man sat everyday by the side of the road. He could not work to earn money because he was blind. So he sat by the road and begged people to give him money.  That way he got enough money to live on.

This blind man heard about Jesus. He heard that Jesus could heal people. He knew Jesus must be God. Every time he heard someone talking about Jesus, he listened very carefully. He hoped that one day he would hear Jesus come by. He wanted to ask Jesus to heal him.

One day the blind man heard a crowd of people go by. He asked some people what was happening. “Jesus is walking by,” they said.

The blind man began to call out. “Jesus, help me! Jesus, help me!”

The people near the blind man said, “Be quiet! You are disturbing people.

But the blind man continued to call out. “Jesus, help me!”

Jesus heard the blind man. Jesus stopped walking. He told the people to bring the blind man closer. The people told the blind man that Jesus wanted to talk to him. The blind man got up and hurried to Jesus.

Jesus asked the blind man, “What do you want me to do for you?”

The blind man said, “Teacher, I want to see.”

Jesus said, “Receive your sight. Because you believed that I could heal you, you will be able to see.”

Immediately the man could see again. He was so happy. He knew that Jesus was God because Jesus had healed him. The man followed Jesus wherever he went. He told people how Jesus had healed him.
